mobile app

Our Hobnail Trekking mobile app makes international adventure travel a snap. As soon as your trek is confirmed, we will send you simple instructions for downloading either an Android or iOS version of the app, along with your username and password.

When you first log in, you’ll find your entire trip itinerary, maps, points of interest, a live messaging function, current weather at all the various spots along your trek, and a cool way to take photos, record info about them, and even share them to social media.

Then, it gets really interesting. After you book your international flights and send us all of the flight information, we will enter that into the app. Presto! All of your departure times, gate and baggage info, and airport maps are now available right there in the app! Send us your passport, travel insurance, and COVID documentation and we will add those, as well. The app is now customized for YOU, specifically!

Take some time to scroll down and read more details about this amazing addition to your travel experience.

ITINERARY

Say goodbye to digging through your backpack or duffel for a printed itinerary. Now, it’s right there on your phone, whether you want to show your friends and family what you’ll be doing in the months leading up to your trek or when you’re actually there trekking. Remember: Everything except for live messaging works offline!

Use another set of options on the detail view of each day. For example, tap “Lodging” to see where you’re staying that night, “Maps” to see exactly where you’ll be that day, along with points of interest, “Weather” shows you … well … you know, and “Posts” gives you a great function to take photos, write a description for each, and share it to social media — right there within the app!

FLIGHT INFORMATION

After you book your international flights, just send us your flight numbers and we’ll do the rest. (Don’t worry — we can update your custom app at any time.) Tapping the “Flights” tab at the bottom of the screen will open your entire flight itinerary. Tap a flight to reveal the details, like departure time, flight duration, terminal and gate info, and even luggage carousel number, when available. You also get a great map of your flight.

In your “Need to Know” tab, you’ll also find links to a terminal map of each major airport.

Need to know

This section provides a ton of useful stuff, like a trek countdown checklist, a gear checklist, COVID requirements for your country of destination, airport terminal maps, hotel websites, exchange rate calculator, time-of-day converter, and anything else we can think of that might help you during your adventure.

messaging

Need to chat with us either before or during your trek? No worries, we’ve got you. This instant messaging function gets you straight to us and is super easy to use. (Of course, you can also always call or email us, if you prefer!)

Remember: You won’t be messaging a machine, but rather, real people. You will get a response from us as quickly as possible. Usually, that will be very quickly, but keep the time differences in mind.

This will also be another way for us to communicate with you with on-the-fly information, changes, or updates.

Maps

Our map function is amazing, if we can brag a little. Just tap on the Maps icon to access all the main landmarks of your trek, including points of interest. Zoom in to see more and more details. If you prefer, tap the “Satellite” icon to toggle on the satellite view. Remember, you can also reach the maps in every day of your itinerary.
