A:Â Â I worked 48 years in the nursing profession and was very pleased with my choices. It was very rewarding to care for those in an altered state of health and coach them into learning how to live their best lives with a new diagnosis. The close of 2023 began my retirement journey.
A:Â Â Both of my children studied abroad in their undergraduate programs. This was my first opportunity to travel outside the NY/NJ area. It was so stimulating to explore new countries and cultures. Those two trips inspired me to focus on adventure travel when time and finances would allow.
A:Â Kenya was my first out-of-country adventure. My son was working as a researcher, collecting data on the behavior of hyenas right in the middle of Masai Mara National Reserve. I was fortunate enough to be included in the dawn and dusk explorations to observe the hyena clans and their activities.
The onset of Covid provided me with the opportunity to develop my hiking skills and endurance, which heightened my respect and appreciation for the great outdoors. Patagonia was an exciting destination in the winter of 2024.
