Tenzi Sherpa ~ Team Leader

As our Team Leader, Tenzi has led various trekking groups of all types and levels, from easy to extremely challenging. He is familiar with every single step of the trails of Everest, Annapurna, and the Langtang regions along with other remote parts of Nepal. Following his father’s footsteps, Tenzi became a trekking leader after completing 12 years of service in adventure tourism.

Tenzi has earned his trekking guide license from the Ministry of Tourism and the government of Nepal and has gone through several adventure tourism-related trainings, including: Nepal Academy of Tourism & Hotel Management (NATHM), first aid, and Kathmandu Environment Education Project (KEEP). These trainings have helped him understand the tourism sector from multiple perspectives. He speaks English well, which helps him to win the hearts of trekkers. Tenzi is hard working, dedicated, honest, and always has a friendly attitude.

Indra Shreshtha ~ Senior Guide

Indra was born and raised in the far western region of Nepal. He started his career at 16 by working with different trekking companies as a porter after completing the intermediate level of studies in Kathmandu. Now he serves as a senior trekking guide with 5th Lake Adventure Pvt (Hobnail’s Nepal affiliate) and other well-known trekking companies.

Indra’s expertise, passion, and rapport with the local people and warm personal style receives the highest praise from his clients, making him an unsurpassed mountain guide in Nepal. Fluent in English, Indra brings a wealth of experience to his career in adventure tourism and delights in sharing it with his clients. His enthusiasm combined with his expertise in varying areas ranging from culture, nature and conservation makes him one of our most popular and frequently requested guides.

Khusman Tamang ~ Trekking Guide

Khusman was born and raised in a remote village in the Central Himalayan region. At only 19, he began his career in adventure tourism as a trekking guide and has worked with our Senior Guide, Dawa, over dozens of treks. He is one of the most knowledgeable, experienced, and professional government-licensed trekking guides of our company with more than 10 years of experience in the industry. Khusman has guided many international groups to  Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Manaslu & Makalu regions in Nepal and has acquired diversified experience and extensive knowledge on local areas, religion, culture, flora and fauna, and environmental issues.

Due to his impeccable sense of humor, exceptional ability, and caring attitude towards his clients, Khusman has earned a stellar reputation among the adventure tourism community in Nepal. 

Nima Gyalzen ~ Trekking Guide

Since 2010, Nima has worked in mountain tourism as a trekking and climbing guide leading many international groups to  Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Manaslu, Makalu Kanchanjunga and other remote areas in Nepal. While guiding he has acquired diversified experience and extensive knowledge of each local area, religion, culture, flora and fauna, and environment. Many of his repeated clients prefer him as their guide for trekking as well as peak climbing in Nepal due to his professionalism, friendly attitude, and honesty. Nima has successfully scaled several trekking peaks above 6,500m including Island, Mera, Lobuche, Cholatse, Pisang, Chulu east, Chulu west, and several others.

Nima is exceptionally efficient in a team and takes care of his clients individually.  He is very serious about his work and executes his duty professionally. His English is sufficient for communication during climbing and trekking. He has also participated in several trainings and workshops conducted by Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) and Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA).

Diwakar Guatam ~ City Guide

A graduate in business management from Tribhuvan  University in Kathmandu, Diwakar has worked as a professional city guide since 1998, bearing Reg. No.1375/1054 from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Civil Aviation from Government of Nepal. He started his career as a city guide at quite an early age. His unsurpassed knowledge in the tourism industry and practical experience has made it easy for him to establish a good rapport among his clients. He has traveled across Nepal and acquired immense knowledge on the history, geography, culture and religions of the country.

Diwakar is highly motivated in his profession and loves to share his knowledge of Kathmandu with the clients. He is also fully confident to sort out any problems that may arise during a tour, ensuring that each runs smoothly and safely in compliance with the company’s policy and tour programs. He is proficient in English and is great at explaining the ins and outs of Kathmandu in a simple and entertaining way. We’re honored to have Diwakar on the Hobnail team.
