Hobnail Trekking Co. officially opened its doors in Jan. 2017, coming into existence after a chance meeting between Nashville outdoors enthusiasts Mark and Holly Johnson and a young Everest Region Sherpa named Dawa Jangbu Lama the prior August. The Johnsons decided to combine their marketing and administrative backgrounds with Dawa’s vast experience and network* in Nepal’s adventure tourism industry to create an exciting new trekking company. A trek to Mt. Everest had been at the top of the Johnsons’ bucket list for many years, so they set out to create the kind of company and user experience they would want for themselves. (Read about Mark and Dawa’s introduction here. It’s nuts!)
Hobnail Trekking Co. makes the process of trekking in Nepal as simple, non-intimidating, and fun as it can possibly be. There will always be a level of uncertainty and complexity to traveling somewhere as remote as the Everest region of Nepal, but we try to remove as much of that “fret factor” as we can. Our goal is for you to concentrate on having the absolute time of your life!
*Our leaders and guides are trained in wilderness first-aid, are registered with the Nepal Tourism Board, and are licensed by the Gov. of Nepal.
